David Meacham covers all of Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. His services include Uniform Wind Mitigation Verification, Four Point, Citizen’s Roof Condition Verification and full Home and Commercial Inspections.
Uniform Wind Mitigation is an inspection to investigate the property’s construction in the event of strong winds. The inspection looks at the structure of the roof, opening protection, roof to wall connections to determine the wind resistance of the property’s construction. The homeowner can submit the results of the wind mitigation inspection to their insurer to obtain significant premium discounts.
Four Point Inspection is being required by insurance companies in the State of Florida for homes that are 30 years and older. The inspection looks at the age, remaining life expectancy and functionality of the electrical, heating and cooling, plumbing and roof systems of the home.
Citizen’s Roof Condition Verification is now required by Citizens and other insurance companies upon application or renewal on homes which are 25 years and older. Citizen’s knows the age of your home but then the roof may have been replaced. The inspection looks at the life expectancy of the roof covering prior to purchase.
David’s fees are very competitive and are based on the heated square footage of the home. When doing a complete home inspection, typically the Wind Mitigation credits cover the entire cost of the inspection. Buyers and homeowners have been very happy with this system since the benefits are immediate and they continue to save in future years. These savings can amount to thousands of dollars over time. Most clients have never heard of the Wind Mitigation inspection and are excited about the savings.
